Dangers Associated with Jaw Resorption

Jaw Resorption Madison Oral Surgery & Dental Implants WI 53713Having jaw resorption is not a good thing. When the teeth in the mouth are not there anymore, the bone in the gums starts to diminish then the bone in the jaw.

This breaks down with time and can cause the person extreme pain while it happens. There is also something that can happen to mostly teenage girls where the joints in the jaw are what is affected.

Either one of these conditions can cause pain in the person and the inability to move the jaw very much to talk, smile, laugh, eat or drink. This is why the issue has to be taken care of as soon as it is noticed.

Jaw Resorption Needs to be Treated

If you notice that you have serious pain, are missing teeth or that the gums in your mouth are becoming much shallower then it is time to speak with a dental professional. This problem needs to be treated since this can cause the jaw to malfunction.

You may not be able to do anything with it if you let it go. It will lock up and not be able to open or move. This is not something that anyone wants. This serious condition is also extremely painful, making the person want to seek out help for it.

The jawbone is preserved through chewing and the pressure that is caused by the mechanisms of doing so. When the jaw is unable to do this, this will speed up the process of the jaw bone breaking down. When this happens, the calcium that is released from the bone will go into the blood and then is carried to the organs in the body which is also not a good thing.

It is always important to speak with a professional regarding the symptoms you have been experiencing. They can provide you with more information or an exam to check out the issues you are having in your mouth. Give us a call here for some help!
