![]() We Are Specialists General dentists do everything from cleanings to installing implants. It's their job to know a lot about a lot of different dental issues and common procedures. When it comes to oral surgery, though, most patients want the best. Dentists may be able to do a lot, but they're not experts in oral surgery. We are. We understand what could potentially go wrong and have the training, skills, and equipment on hand to deal with anything. A general dentist might not. We Use Unique Equipment The equipment we have on hand is designed for the delicate, precise movements that oral surgery requires. Standard dentists often use similar equipment, but those tools have other purposes. They're not designed for surgery, and they can actually cause come complications if they're used for surgical procedures. We Handle Associated Procedures Sometimes, you may need to have another procedure done alongside the extraction. For example, older patients may need to have a bone graft done at the same time. That's because the wisdom tooth's removal may cause the bone below it to shrink a bit. This can cause some issues with the tooth beside that space, making it more sensitive to cold drinks or food. Doing a bone graft will prevent that. As trained oral surgeons, we're experts in this procedure. We Provide Follow-Up Dental CareWhen you leave, we'll give you a list of everything you should and shouldn't do and for how long you need to follow those rules. We'll also have you back for follow-up care as needed to make sure the area is healing correctly.Call us today if you have any questions about wisdom tooth extraction. |
