That is why it is important to regularly perform self-diagnosis and inform us if you notice anything unusual. It is easier to treat oral cancer when it is detected while it is still in the initial stages. It might also turn out to be a false alarm. Here are some of the signs that you need to call us immediately for an oral cancer checkup.

When To Get In Touch With Us For Oral Cancer Checkup

We usually check for oral cancer during your routine annual checkups. However, if you develop oral cancer in between the annual appointments, it will be a great health risk to wait until the next appointment to let us know about it. Early diagnosis and treatment of the disease is very important. If you notice any of the following signs, then you should get in touch with us immediately for a more comprehensive oral cancer screening.

Mouth Sores That Won't Go Away

Once in a while, you could develop mouth sores that disappear after a while- usually within 14 days. However, persistent mouth sores could be a symptom of oral cancer. You should also watch out for any lumps or discoloration in the mouth.

Change In Texture And The Color Of The Tongue

The tongue should have an even texture and color. If you notice any weird textures and colors on your tongue, then you should get in touch with us immediately to schedule a comprehensive screening for oral cancer.

Inflamed, Red, Or Bleeding Gums

A problem with your gums could simply mean that you are suffering from gum disease, usually known as gingivitis. However, it could also be a pointer to an underlying deeper issue such as oral cancer. Even if it is just gingivitis, you should still visit our clinic for treatment because it can develop into oral cancer. You should also watch out for pus in your mouth.

•  New, single use pens to avoid germ sharing between patients and personnel
•  Procedural personnel wear N95/KN95 masks and face shields
