Meet
Scott A. Hoyer, DDS, MS

By understanding the importance of patient-centered and personalized care, Dr. Hoyer works to transform his patient’s lives through oral surgery.

About Dr. Hoyer

Originally hailing from Dubuque, Iowa, Dr. Hoyer began his journey in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2005, driven by a passion for impacting patients' lives. Witnessing the transformative potential of dental implants and corrective jaw surgery, he was drawn to the field's ability to restore both function and confidence.

Joining Madison Oral Surgery and Dental Implants, Dr. Hoyer found a professional home that aligned with his values of patient-centered care and personalized attention. He wanted to work at a practice where camaraderie and peer-to-peer learning flourished.

For Dr. Hoyer, the most rewarding aspect of his career lies in witnessing patients unlock their potential, becoming the person they aspire to be. His warm and caring approach resonates deeply, particularly with nervous individuals, as he understands the anxiety that often accompanies oral surgery. Taking the time to build relationships and truly understand each patient, he goes the extra mile to ensure a positive experience, especially for those who may be apprehensive. His ultimate goal is to make every patient feel like family, ensuring they receive the highest quality care in a warm and supportive environment.

Dr. Hoyer attended Loras College, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry in 1996. He moved 80 miles south to attend the University of Iowa College of Dentistry to earn his Doctor of Dental Science degree in 2001. In 2005, he completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery and his medical sciences degree at the University of Iowa’s hospitals and clinics.
